I'm not a cop, just a curious gear-head.

But seriously, how was it? Pics if you have them.

Here's mine 1956 Ford Fairlane with glasspacks, this thing loves to crack, pop, and backfire.

Using your bare feet to come to a stop because the Phaeton's brakes failed does not make it count as the Flintstone mobile :P

I daily drove a '73 Challenger f0r about a year and a half.

It was a fun car. Pretty slow, but made a lot of noise and was comfy.

'67 Mustang, I think. I can't recall other cars I've driven that may be older, just ones I've owned. My goal though is to keep making my way back through the decades. I've had 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000's, 10's vehicles, now I need to go 50s, 40s, at least.

Would driving my dad's '39 Caddy out of the garage when I was like 12 count? If not, then probably the 80's Ford Escorts and Chrysler K-cars I used to field bomb in when I was learning to drive. As a fully licensed driver I'd say my old '93 Wrangler.

I'm no expert, but I believe the custom indicated two tone paint: the original factory color and rust.

Haha thank you! Needless to say I had no idea what I had at the time. I purchased it from my dad's assistant, it was her husband's truck and he passed away from lung cancer. The truck was pretty beat up so I purchased it for 5 grand and only owned it for 4 months. Stupidly, I sold it for something with AC as I lived in Vegas and my parents thought I was going to kill myself driving it... They were probably right.

I wonder where it is now

It wasn't mine, but a 1960 Ford Falcon with a transplanted 289 with a 4 speed.

This was back in 1976 or so and the car was a real hack job. I remember helping my buddy wail on the firewall with a sledgehammer to get clearance for the transmission-I'm not even sure why we had to clearance, but it sure was fun beating the hell out of it and dear baby Jesus-it was a helluva lot faster then my 68 bug.

We used a oxy acetylene torch to open up the rear fenders to mount up some badass 50 series meats. They hung so far out of the bodywork, he had to weld up a crude set of flares for it to be legal. In PA- you can't have any tire hanging out further then the bodywork.....it had a silver paint job applied with spray cans-best car ever.

My lady used to have a 1989 e30 convertible that was in great shape. I used to stay sober for WHOLE WEEKENDS so I could DD that thing around. A buddy also had a 1979 chevelle that I did a bunch of car audio work on. One July 4th we took the exhaust off and ran it straight out the headers with American flags on the windows. That was a blast.

A 1912 Model T, for all of 500 feet or so, owned by a friend of a friend with a small collection of pre-war autos. All of the components under the hood are recognizable and direct ancestors of modern parts and systems, as is the drivetrain (ish), but my god are the hand/foot combo controls mindboggling, the pedals are tiny and oddly placed/shaped, it sounds like it's about to stall out at any given moment, but it putts along pretty darn nicely and has old school craftsmanship, ingenuity and character pouring out of every hand-assembled piece.

As a kid, my dad let me drive his 1989 Saab 900 Turbo Aero around the driveway. The oldest car I've driven on the road was also my dad's, his 1992 BMW 735iL. The oldest car I've owned was my fist car, a 1995 Mazda Miata.

I can't remember if I actually drove any of my friend's old VWs ('67 Karmann Ghia and '65 Beetle), so to err on the safe side I'll say my first car, a '77 Dasher wagon.
